Someone—or something—is stalking Abby Marcheson. Luckily, she has her brother’s
hunky friend Seth to keep her safe. Abby falls easily into her protected life, with Seth
constantly by her side, and when he asks her out on a date, she’s eager to accept.
But Seth is much more than he seems. A Nephilim, a son of Angels with wings of his own,
Seth is bound to spend his life hunting the Shemyaza, evil descendants of Angels. He’s
kept his wings hidden from Abby in order not to frighten her, but as her stalker becomes
bolder, Seth begins to suspect that a Shem has Abby in its sights…
As their flirtation escalates into full-blown passion, Seth is torn. Should he reveal his true
nature to the beautiful, trusting Abby? Will she accept him, wings and all, or will Abby
flee her guardian angel and fall prey to the sinister force that wishes her harm?
Abby’s last relationship left her with scars and a fear of men but her brother’s friend, Seth, has managed to get past her walls. She’s ready to let go of a terrifying past but it appears that her ex is back and not willing to let her go.
Seth wants nothing more than to keep Abby safe and being a Nephilim will help with that if Abby will trust him. He knows she’s not telling him everything about the night that left her and her family injured and took her brother’s life. The balance between uncovering all the details while keeping her trust is a tricky one, especially when he is keeping secrets of his own. Like his ability to grow wings and fly and the fact that her stalker is connected to the enemies he has dedicated his life to defeating.
All For You is darker than previous Bell books. While the trademark humor is still there, the angst and violence take a more prominent role. Abby is so damaged but fights so hard to get what she wants from life. And Seth is just plain yummy. Badass warrior by night, caring (and hot!) lover by day. Seeing him lose his laid back attitude when Abby is in danger was fantastic!
It took me longer than normal to read this one because of the detailed world building. There are different types of Nephs and Shems and they have different powers. All the Neph names slowed down the story at times but they are important to the book and, I assume, the series in the future.
I believe fans of the early Black Dagger Brotherhood books and Larissa Ione’s Demonica series will love this new world from Dana Marie Bell. Strong female characters, a group of warriors (both male and female) who have become a family with all its quirks, and fabulously evil bad guys you can’t wait to see destroyed. With so many fascinating characters introduced, I’m very curious who will get their story next.
