The second book in the Six Pack Ranch series, Rocky Mountain Haven, is really the beginning. While there’s another book already out (Rocky Mtn Heat), each time I return to the Coleman’s world, it’s like starting over.
That’s certainly a theme in this story. Starting over is huge for the heroine who is recovering from an abusive relationship and a car accident. Beth is looking to move forward—and here’s where I have to explain something about how I write, just in case any readers are worried.
I’ve mentioned this before—I’m a wimp. I know pain exists, I know that the world isn’t always fair or kind, and there are times those realities are a part of the stories I write. But I don’t see the need to dwell on the raw and gory details. The emotional impact of situations is angst enough for me, so while Beth was abused, and effects of that abuse are a part of her, it’s not only who she is.
Who she is changes and develops through the story as she finds a new life. Starting over with the things she’s experienced a part of her but not only what defines her. I think that’s a truth for all the characters. Daniel has experienced pain, loss. One of the other Colemans introduced in more depth in this story, cousin Gabe, is also working for a new beginning. There are pieces of the past in all their stories that influence their behaviors, but all in all?
Moving forward. Making new decisions. Reaching for new happiness and a new life.
By the end of this story Beth and Daniel are on their way to finding a new life, but it takes more than just falling in love. It takes the time to fall in love and to find what new path will work for them—all of them, since Beth has little children.
I hope you enjoy traveling a new path with Beth and Daniel, and the other Colemans, in Rocky Mountain Haven.

Rocky Mountain Haven
Six Pack Ranch, Book 2
It’s the quiet ones that take you by surprise.
Beth Danube’s emotionally abusive husband is dead and buried. So is her heart. It’s no big deal, she has all she wants: her three little boys and a fresh start in a small Alberta town. What she doesn’t want is another man in her life—not now, maybe not ever.
After ten years of unsatisfactory, missionary-position sex, she never expected her libido to reawaken. One look at sex-in-boots Daniel Coleman in a Calgary bar, though, blows the dust off her sexuality.
Sensing an edge of desperation, even fear, beneath Beth’s come-on, Daniel finds himself giving in to the powerful urge to let his normally subdued desires run wild. The lady wants non-judgemental, non-vanilla sex? She’s got it—in and out of the bedroom.
At first, friends with blazing-hot benefits is more then enough. Then she realizes Daniel is burning away the protective fortress around her heart…and the guilty secret she dare not reveal.
Warning: One woman determined to retake control of her life, a man with the single-minded purpose of offering her—and her body—everything she needs. Inappropriate behaviour in barns, change rooms, and oh-my-gawd phone sex with a cowboy.

I love this series, and already have the first two on ebook. The older versions not the newer one, because I know dhe extended the stories from their original publication date. So I will need the newer version to keep up! Thanks for the giveaway!!!

The books sound great. I love books about new beginnings. Thanks for the giveaway.
I love a second chance at love stories, so I’ve put this one on my wishlist. Thanks for the guestpost and the give away.
I don’t really enjoy all the gory either, I’d rather get to the HEA! I’d like a shot at the first ebook.
Ooh, love the blurb, Viv! And I couldn’t agree more w/ you about the angst ~~ I don’t mind reading about it, but I like to read about the heroine is about moving forward, building a life from what she is NOW, from what’s she learned and become……too much dwelling on the past and I’m like STFU already, lol
LOL, that sounded REALLY bad, didn’t? But I mean, when I’m reading, I just don’t want REALITY reality, you know? I read for escapism, so too much reality and it’s depressing.
Heheh. I knew what you meant! Reading is different than listening to your GF tell a story.
I’d love to try this series! Thank you for the giveaway!
I would like to try this series, have never read this author before and it sounds really good.
Great post and this sounds like a great contemporary series. I’ve only ever read Vivian’s paranormal stuff and loved it!

Hello Vivian! I love the idea that the characters are moving forward, putting the past behind them. I can appreciate their need to create a new life. Congratulations on the new release! Cowboys have a special place in my heart.
Thanks, Stacie. Even though it’s a story it reminds me to keep moving forward. Hope you enjoy it!
I absolutely loved the 1st book and will be heading to amazon expeditiously following this comment to buy bk 2! I would love to win any of this series or any other written by this talented author!
Thanks for the giveaway. I would love to start with book 1. This series has been on my want to read list.
Sounds like a great series!
i love this series
I love, love this series. Great heroes and heroines.
I fell hard for this series after the first one! Can’t wait to read the next and the next… Wonderful series!
Just waving hi, Vivian! SO looking forward to all the books in this series! And I do love that romances in general are all about hope and beginnings–yes, the stories are usually taking us on a couple’s journey to an HEA, but that’s the start, really–it isn’t the end
(Guess that’s one reason I love sequels and epilogues so much–we get to peek beyond that HEA
)
Peeking into the future is fun!
I enjoyed book one and have wanted to reread book two since I knew about the rewrite. I like the angst as long as I know the HEA is coming.
This sounds like a book I would like
Off to check out the first one, because i hate reading books out of order. Another book for my tbr list
*waving* Hello, Vivi!
As someone who has started over a couple of times (so far), I agree completely that what molded us up to this point is not all we are–and definitely shouldn’t be all that we can be in the future. It is not easy, but growing as a person, breaking bad habits of all sorts (from fear to guilt to the people we chose to associate with) and forming better ones is possible. It takes work, but then, being miserable also takes work
See–right there, people forget that part. It takes energy to be miserable…OR happy.
Good for you!
Congrats on the new series, this sounds amazing!!!
Thanks, Jolene!
Thanks, everyone, for the wonderful comments. I appreciate it– and hope you enjoy the continuing series!
